Here is Sam holding Eli Amberson (my boy).  They both look a little disturbed with this whole situation.  Like Sam might be thinking "Why the heck do I have to hold this baby?" and Eli could be concerned about the safety issue of having his uncle, who rolls over young children and dogs with his wheelchair, being in  charge of his well being.  Which might be a valid worry.
