How desperate can you be for that fresh, bubble-gum flavor?  Obviously desperate enough to chew gum that is attached to a piece of dental floss.  And every time Sam would really start chewing, my mom would yank on the string in a moment of panic, sure he was choaking, and out the gum would fly...just a normal evening activity at the Howell house.
