Miracle Man

Lord, I struggle just to understand your plan

How'd this happen to such a good man like Sam

Full of love, compassion and truth

More a man than I, even in his youth

He's an innocent soul, so together he's whole

You can't touch his heart with an infinite pole, behold

His soul's stronger than you'll ever know

He's gonna wake up and let go, like out of control

He has an understanding that words can't portray

He's a work of art that needs to be displayed

I know I am but one of thousands moved

Confused by his knowledge, by his presence soothed

Make no mistake, Lord, an angel is aboard

This earth to give it worth and to open many doors

Of doubt and despair, he's proof of your prayer

Being heard every word he's aware that you're here

In this room, at this moment, together we stand

With broken, open hearts for this miraculous man.

Sam Howell, everybody stand, hold hands, please...

Time to get down on your knees

And pray.

" Pray that Sam is gonna be okay. "

" He's gonna wake and find himself a brand new day."

"Everybody pray that Sam will be okay."

Let it be known right here, let it be known right now,

Samuel Howell will stand up and bow.

Once again with his friends, family and peers,

Someday all this pain will become joyful tears.

Now I see how the Lord's life lessons work

So many little miracles preventing the worst.

Let's start with the tree, that in fact,

Softened the fall and reduced the impact.

The ambulance at the scene, Yale Miller intervened,

Thirty minutes of clarity for the pilot to see,

The doctors, the staff who all acted fast,

Precise with the knife, confidant in their task.

An intuitive nurse who prepared for the worst

smart enough before acting to check with his mom first.

The teamwork of colleagues, constantly efficient,

The hospital itself technologically sufficient.

Let's not forget the most powerful yet,

Native American Medicine Man at the end of your bed.

No one could deny the energy from this guy,

At this point don't even try not to cry.

And never again, Lord, shall we take for granted,

Samuel Howell, this angel you've planted.

In our lives he shall grow ever more adored,

For this precious gift of life, we thank you, Lord,

Amen.
