I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving with their families. Sam DID make the tuna salad (we took pics that we will post later) and also showed how his reflexes are coming back. He knocked the bowl full of T.S. off the counter and caught it in his hands before it could fall on the floor (though he did get some tuna on pants and shoes--but Sadie the dog helped him with that.)
Sam also was the first one to say what he was thankful for this holiday. He said, "Thank you God for letting me live and be with my family today." Of coarse we all started to cry...oh, we are so very blessed! Just thinking back to his days in ICU with crisis after crisis and being told over and over that there was no hope for recovery for Sam. That it wasn't possible. But one thing I have learned in the last nine months is that ALL things ARE possible...even surviving when your odds of living were 0.04% and your chance for meaningful recovery (more than a vegetative state) was nil. Only God knows what our future holds...
Happy Thanksgiving--hug the people you love,
Bec
P.S. Sam also took part in the Thanksgiving feast--he ate many spoonfuls of chocolate pudding and also took a very small lick of pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
