This isn't exactly a Valentine's Day card (at least I won't call it that since it's late!!)  It's a card just to let all of you know what an inspiration you have been.  I have been keeping up with the website and am in awe of what your family has been through and the love you have for each other.  What an amazing family you are.  You have truly shown what the power of love (and God) can do.  As a parent, and now a grandparent, I pray that our family never has to go through what you have.  But just reading what you've done gives all of us hope that no matter what we can pull through. 

Sam, I think you know what a lucky young man you are to have the love and support your family gives.  I have no doubt that very soon you will continue your studies and, someday, play a very important part in the future of this world.  In fact, you already have.  You have shown all of us that, with determination, we can conquer anything.  I've shed tears of sorrow, but more tears of laughter reading the blogs.  Thanks to all of you for sharing this very personal time of your lives with us.

And Bec, this is for you and your family!  Congratulations!  We'll be looking forward to seeing pictures of your new little guy.  What a wonderful new way for your family to celebrate Valentine's Day and start a new "sweet beginning".
