Today was a close call.  Sam had no gag reflex and you can't live without that.  Some of the doctors were making a decision to turn off life support or not.  Dr. Adams came in and looked at Sam's left eye.  He had pupilary response, which means he was still with us.  Dr. Adams didn't give up on Sam.  So they decided to do another surgery called a hematoma.  They removed some of his right temporal lobe.  After the surgery his blood pressure was very bad.  But Dr. Adams didn't give up on Sam. He did everything he could.

Hundreds of people were praying for Sam.  It is very rare for gag reflex to come back, but it can happen.  Everyone was almost giving up.  Later today, a miracle happened.  Sam coughed and moved (mom was messing with his intubation tube at the time and it made him cough--Bec) His gag reflexes were back!  Everyone was rejoicing, all over the world.
